The Brief Introduction of the World Mahjong Organization
The World Mahjong Organization (WMO) is established in October 2005, Mahjong organizations from China, Japan, America, German, France, Denmark, Holland and Haungary had jointly iniated it. The World Mahjong Organization is a non-profitable, non-political and non-religious international organization with open characteristics, at the same time, it is the authoritative institution for the activities of the Mahjong culture, competition, training and exchange.
To promote the spirit of Olympics, advocate the healthy, scientific and friendly Mahjong culture, as well as to strengthen the friendship and communication among different countries and areas and to advance spreading and developing high-level, lofty and graceful Mahjong culture all over the world.
Delegation from Mahjong organizations elect Mr. Yun Guangyuan, the Honorary President of Organizing Committee of China Majiang Championship, as the President of the World Mahjong Organization, Mr. Jiang Xuanqi as the General-Secretary of the WMO. Mr. Jiang is entrusted with task of daily running of the WMO. The Secretariat of the WMO is registered in China (WMCC). The institues of the WMO will adopt the principles of gradual improvement and steady development.
The WMO under the leadership of the President Yu Guangyuan, and experts, organizations and euthusiaists, the WMO published and . A program for training of Mahjong referees also established.
The WMO will prompt Mahjong culture in all kind of manners, hosting Mahjong Championship, internet Mahjong competitions etc. The WMO will develope with more and more members and Mahjong competitions.
The Organization welcomes mahjong organizations and institutions of different countries and areas to join its efforts for the purpose of promoting healthy, scientific and friendly Mahjong culture, enhancing friendship, communication and cooperation, developing this popular game in healthy way.
