Mahjong Pin-Ranking System
1. Tenet:
For promoting the healthy, scientific and friendly Mahjong culture under the tenets of the Olympic spirit so that the Mahjong competition will become an advanced, distingue and graceful program incorporated with leisure, entertainment and competition. Also in order to arouse and reinforce the Mahjong fans' enthusiasm and devotion for participating in the Mahjong competitions, the World Mahjong Contest Center(WMCC) specifically constitute this Mahjong Pin System with the instructions of Mr.Yu Guangyuan, the president of the World Mahjong Organization(WMO) and on the base of Pin System of the China Majiang Championship Committee for the purpose of giving the players' skilled performances an objective judgment.
2. Requirements for authentication:
The World Mahjong Organization will bring those who positively participate in the competitions held and acknowledged by WMO with its members into its Mahjong Pin System and confer the according Pin titles on the condition that they will obey the Mahjong Competition Rule published by WMO. As for the ones held on the internet, which also need to be conferred, the Pin standard will be in another system.
3. Regulations for competitions:
3.1 Mahjong Competition Rule should be applied in the competitions;
3.2 Referee qualified for the requirements of the Mahjong Competition Rule;
3.3 Results meet the requirements of the Mahjong Competition Rule.
4. Regulations for Internet competitions:
4.1 Websites should be fixed, legislative and accessible for the public;
4.2 Conferred by the WMO and WMCC;
4.3 Operate under the Mahjong Competition Rule.
5. Standard for the Pin system:
5.1 Morality requirements of play Mahjong:
Any one who receives the Pin title should be both under the requirements of the virtue of grace and moral fiber and within the Mahjong Competition Rule (No. 2.3.1 ,2.3.2,2.3.3).
5.2 The skilled factors included in Pin system:
According to Mahjong Competition Rule, three factors should be included, namely standard score, competition score and competition rank.
5. 3 The structure of the Pin System.:
The Pin system is graded into nine Pin: 1 Pin, 2 Pin, 3 Pin, 4 Pin, 5 Pin, 6 Pin, 7 Pin, 8 Pin, 9 Pin. The 1 Pin is the highest while the 9 Pin is the lowest.
5.4 Pin standard: results of competitions held or sanctioned by us will be acknowledged.

6. Competition System
1. A class competition (World Mahjong Championship and acknowledged major
international competitions)
6.1.1 Complete games (Ju): over 8
6.1.2 Recording method: Standard Score, 4.2.1.0 with each table (group).
6.2 B class competition (continental championships, multilateral high-level competitions and country competitions)
6.1.2 Complete games (Ju): over 6
6.2.2 Recording method: Standard Score, 4.2.1.0 with each table (group).
6.3 C class competition (local and district competitions, bilateral competitions between two
countries and web competitions which sanctioned by us)
6.3.1 Local and district competitions, bilateral competitions between two countries' Complete games (Ju): over 6.
6.3.2 Recording method: Standard Score, 4.2.1.0 with each table (group).
6.3.3 Web Complete games (Ju): over 10 (must under the supervision of the referees who meet the requirements of the Mahjong Competition Rules)
7. Table of Pin
7.1 Pin: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Pin
7.2 Web Pin: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Pin
7.3 Local Pin: 1, 2, 3, 4.5.6 Ji
Or: 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Duan, etc.
Explanations:
1. Mahjong Pin System is to be put into use during the first World Mahjong Championship.
2. The competition score only being counted as the addition and the players mentioned above can apply the according Pin certificate when the result references are collected at the end of 2007. The Pin conferring and procedure will be issued later.
1) Players who has acquired the acknowledged Pin will be gave the certificates and brooches.
2) All the certificates and brooches will be authorized and made by the World Mahjong Contest Center.
3. The Pin certificates of the first, the second and the third China Majiang Championships are valid. And the ranking for that is under the Mahjong Pin System.
